We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Account Manager for our Outdoor Utility group in our Wayland, MI office. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in position and industry with estimating experience a plus.

Education, Training & Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: Minimum of five years experience; estimating knowledge a plus.
  • Required: Thorough knowledge of all aspects of electrical design and construction technology, equipment and methods.
  • Preferred: Master Electrical license

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and modify product/services to meet customer needs.
  • Confer with customers and engineer to assess needs to determine requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide support.
  • Secure and renew orders for providing service.
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
  • Recommend material improvements of machinery to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.
  • Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment and/or services.
  • Seek out and contact potential customer and assigned customers for the purpose of attaining sales of current services and products.
  • Staff projects in the best practical manner to provide effective and efficient productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain contact with service technician promoting goodwill and provide support throughout project activities and non-project activities
  • Modify assignments in accordance with the schedule and budget.
  • Initiate job required material purchase through Purchasing Coordinator.
  • Suggest ideas for business development of new markets and opportunities through VP of Electrical Services to Business Development.
  • Administer the monthly sales goals given by the VP of Electrical Services.
  • Meet personal sales and gross profit goals.
  • Administer sales activity including sales calls, improving customer relations and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the administration of the daily operation of the department and its application to customer requirements.
  • Pricing and variance reporting.
  • Monitor job costing and reports.
  • Provide direction for customer billing and vendor payment.
  • Coordinate sales and quotes with customers and office personnel.
  • Maintain and promote a team environment for company projects.
  • Assist, plan and implement marketing strategy directives with the VP of Electrical Services.
  • Assist in procedures for following through on leads, contacts and commitments
  • Enforce state and company safety regulations, and company policies and practices.
  • Maintain business relationship with key suppliers.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all required paperwork.
  • Responsible for business related decisions concerning projects and successful completion of the projects while maintaining best practices for service, pricing, customer relations and communications.
  • Attend authorized trade shows, conventions, seminars and other meetings to enhance professional knowledge and to promote the company image.
  • Follow up and assist in cross selling other services as directed.
  • Assist in maintaining promotional information as directed by Business Development, and distribute as requested.
  • Provide relevant feedback on employees for purposes of performance evaluations.
